Welcome to our New Coach!!

We are Excited to announce yet another Outstanding addition to our DVA Coaching Family.

Huang Hui Ping (we call her Ping) is coming to DVA in Wilmington this Fall to work with our 13 and 14 National teams. Ping was an assistant coach at DI St. John's University and specialized in teaching the Middles. While she was a student at St. John's, Ping earned distinction as an All American Middle Blocker and Freshman of the Year. Prior to her time at St. John's, Ping played for the Chinese Junior National Team in the World Junior Volleyball Championship in Croatia (and won Best Scorer award). She also played for Chinese National Women's Volleyball League Champions. Our very own Bai Liu Qing was her coach in China during her time at the Shanghai Sports School!

Welcome Ping!!!

DVA Makes History in Delaware Girls Volleyball

We are excited to announce that Mercedes Vaughn, from our 17's National team, was recruited by several of the top 20 DI programs in the country (Nebraska and Tennessee to name a few). Mercedes has signed with the University of Tennessee, which is traditionally a top-25 program every year. Last year they were ranked 24th overall. Tennessee will have four national televised games next season. We are excited to watch one of our players/family members play on TV and we will be watching closely as she competes for a National Title every year. This is the first in the history of girls volleyball in Delaware (at least as far back as we can remember) that a player has been signed as a full scholarship athlete to a top-25 program.

Keep up the good work Mercedes, we will be watching!

Congratulations to Valerie Hill and Stephanie Defeo for going undefeated and winning the Juniors Division (18-under) in the Mid-Atlantic Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, May 28, in Laurel, MD.

CONGRATULATIONS!!
Courtney Seitz

Courtney, a former DVA Setter and all state player from Delaware, recently made the Boston College varsity team roster after talking a year off from the sport to pursue her studies.

We would like to congratulate Courtney and wish her the best of luck in the upcoming season.
